How to use the spin the wheel tool

  1. Type or paste your entries into the Entries tab, one per line. The wheel updates as you type.
  2. Click the wheel, press the center SPIN button, or use Ctrl + Enter.
  3. When the wheel stops, a winner pop-up appears. Choose Remove from wheel to take that entry out and keep going until everyone has had a turn.
  4. Open Results to see every winner so far, Brand to add your logo, background image and colors, and Settings to change spin time, sound and confetti.

What is a random name wheel good for?

A random wheel turns a choice into a small event. It is popular with teachers who want to call on students without playing favorites, streamers and creators who pick a giveaway winner live, families deciding what to eat, and teams choosing who goes first or who presents next. Because everyone can watch the result land, the outcome feels fair even to people who weren't picked. Use full screen to show the wheel on a projector or shared screen.

Game modes, special slices and a dramatic reveal

The wheel is more than a picker. In Knockout mode each spin eliminates one entry until a single champion is left. In Prize round the first spin picks a winner and a second wheel with your prizes spins automatically. Add a ↻ Spin again slice or a gold ★ Jackpot slice to keep people guessing. The Dramatic reveal adds near-misses, a drumroll, rim lights, a spotlight, and a name that appears letter by letter, with confetti, cannons or fireworks. You can switch all of it off in Settings.

Brand the wheel with your logo

Make the wheel your own. In the Brand tab, upload a logo to sit in the center of the wheel, add a background image behind it, and choose up to four brand colors for the slices. It's useful for company events, webinars, classrooms and live-stream giveaways, because the screen you share already looks like yours. Your images are processed and stored in your browser only.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen first using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), with a method that avoids bias toward any slice. The spinning animation is then drawn so the wheel stops on that result. Every entry has exactly the same chance, and the wheel does not remember previous spins.

Frequently asked questions

How many entries can I add?

Up to 20,000, which is enough for large giveaways. Paste a list or use Import file to load a .txt or .csv, and use Remove duplicates to clean it up. With long lists the wheel zooms in on the winner at the end of each spin, so you can read the name even when the slices are far too thin to see. Very long names are shortened on the wheel, but the full text is shown in the winner pop-up and in the results list.

Can I give one entry better odds?

Yes. Each line becomes one slice, so listing an entry twice gives it two slices and double the chance.

Can I turn off the sound or confetti?

Yes, both can be switched off in the Settings tab. If your device is set to reduce motion, the spin is shortened and confetti is skipped automatically.

Can I share my wheel with someone?

Yes. Press Share link in the Entries tab. The link contains your entries, theme, brand colors and spin time, so anyone who opens it gets the same wheel. Logos and background images are not included in links.

Is my list uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your list is saved only on your own device so it's still there next time you visit.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The wheel resizes to fit your screen and works with touch.
