PickWhim Quiz is a free classroom quiz game for teachers. Host a live review game on the projector, or create a homework link that students play on their own. A report shows which questions were hardest.

Live games in class

Show the host screen on the projector. Students scan the QR code or type the code on a phone, tablet or school laptop and choose a nickname. There are no student accounts and no email addresses. Use teams to get a whole class working together, or knockout rounds for a quick finish.

Homework mode

Press Create a homework link to give the quiz as homework. Pick how many days it stays open, and choose whether it is timed and whether students can see a leaderboard. Students open the link, type their name and play one question at a time. You get a results page with every answer.

See what to teach again

After a game or an assignment you get a report with the questions ordered from hardest to easiest, how many students got each one right and which answer they chose most often. Download it as a CSV file to open in a spreadsheet.

Ideas for the classroom

  • Start the lesson with a five-question warm-up on last week's topic.
  • Use a poll to ask what students already know.
  • Practice vocabulary with typed answers.
  • Use number sliders for estimation and math.
  • Finish the week with a team game and draw a prize with the spin the wheel.
